OPEN SHARING with ICD-NOD dancers program
curated by NOD – New Dance Workshop

ICD NOD International Contemporary Dance Program offers teachers from leading European and international companies, exploring the most important current contemporary repertoires including Batsheva, Sharon Eyal, Hofesh Shechter, Crystal Pite, Imbal Pinto and Avshalom Pollack, Idan Sharabi etc. Students have the opportunity to investigate different movements in intensive sessions with the best freelance and non-freelance dancers and choreographers of the international scene. NOD is not an academy, therefore its goal is to offer dancers the possibility to grow as artists, as well as people, having the opportunity to be within an international group contaminating themselves artistically and humanly.

SQUEEZE. From fleeting encounters to lasting friendships, it’s always more exciting to engage with those around you than to be completely alone. Dance is no exception, at least if we leave aside the undoubtedly enriching but nonetheless lonely transcendental experiences at a rave and turn instead to the peculiarities of choreographic systems and crowd-pleasing performances. Technical virtuosity is retrograde, community is the new black. A shy smile, a cheeky squeeze, a multitude of beginnings.

MICHAEL LOEHR. Berlin-based performer, choreographer and teacher. In these various roles he has collaborated with Ahn Eun-Me Company, Candoco Dance Company, Cedar Lake Contemporary Ballet, Scottish Dance Theatre, Staatsballett Berlin, Tanztheater Bielefeld, VA Wölfl’s Neuer Tanz, and perhaps most importantly with Emanuel Gat Dance. With his choreographic collective Something Machine he has recently focused on the possibility of real-time choreography and alternative forms of dance presentation. The project “The 2nd Excessive Rudeness” has been performed in several incarnations at Seoul Dance Center (Korea) and STRUT Dance (Australia).
