Four dancers confront their choices in an empty choreographic space, to be filled and liberated through their awareness and the potential of their decisions. An experiment that becomes representation. Four key words: Isolation, Intimacy, Communication, Community guide four bodies in a field of action so dense and defined that it leaves space only for the self and the encounter with the other. Born out of a workshop exercise, Conscious Decision becomes a conceptual map capable of tracing the essential elements of choreography. Tedesco produces a structure that highlights the dancers’ artistic awareness and individual research, allowing for improvisation while defining a common framework, creating boundaries that spark homogeneous reflection and give life to an undefinable but structured choreography—reinterpretable and adaptable, resilient in the face of time and changes. Far from being vague or instinctive.
The choreographer’s and dancers’ work focused on mutual understanding, leveling the hierarchy, diluting time, discovering a common expressive language coherent with Tedesco’s style, who is adept at always adding something new to the stage. The sound blends everything into a form that astonishes and captivates the viewer’s eye, drawing them into its escape routes and connecting them with the rest: that which is hard to achieve.
