MATCH 2 uncovers competition, a defining feature of neoliberalism, determining not just the market economy but our work, relationships and if you look close enough, you will see how it influences every aspect of our daily lives. MATCH 2 interrogates the ideas of improvement, betterment and progress that drive neoliberal capitalism, along with systems of value that direct and inform our behavior and cultural environment.

In a world where revolutions happen at night and laws are delegated to daytime, what new forms can rebellion take? To da bone is a work that aims to tell a “dance” born from the profound revolt of the youth who lives in the suburbs of the great cities of northern Europe.

Body and time are the protagonists. A body that splits or associates with a fellow human being, who experiments on itself, who reflects on its own organic matter and explores its limits. The body’s greatest interlocutor is time: the flowing one, the percussion, the universal one.

Three performers set a chilled-out club dance into a mesmerizing and dizzying wave-like motion, pushing their physical limits until everything morphs into one big chunk of untamed energy. At maximal exertion and sweaty physicality, their movement flow audaciously reinvents itself as luminous and ever-changing impressions.

TRIAL. In this duet, complexity and synchronicity seem inseparable when two men move harmoniously together. Quick impulses and detailed hand movements swiftly follow each other in this crystalclear presentation. Homogeneously they find tranquillity in their conformity between each other.

“A lean, bony dance writing, an empty perceptual field in which you live in an unreal, visionary state. Score of gestures, movements, apparently simple but which bring back to the complexity of the work on the ‘presence’, on the performative act, on the perception of the nervous system at the expense of the muscular one.

YOUNG BLOOD. What does it mean to be young? Young Blood represents all those young people, that generation endowed with energy, creativity and involvement to develop new paths, which however society does not allow to thrive. We continually observe new currents, trends, new discourses of the “Young Blood” that are increasingly in line with the world in which we live … Why don’t they have power?

Ladies and gentlemen! Look at this creature, as God made it, it’s nothing, really nothing. And now they look at art, it walks briskly, it has jackets and trousers, it wears a saber! Look at the progress of civilization: everything progresses. The monkey is already a soldier; certainly not much, it is the lowest step of the human species!

GONZAGO’S ROSE. A self confident man‚ tough as his seat‚ hombre pasionado which confuses Love with violence‚ an offended woman‚ exhausted‚ watered with her roses‚ longing mujer which soffers violence for a little touch of Love; they have been living together for “thousands of years” bringing up roses pressed by nightmares that seem dreams and watered down poetries‚ they share an unique reality: to dance old memories in tired dresses.
