INTERPLAY FESTIVAL will be back from May 23rd to June 10th 2023, planning 25 performances in long and short format with 7 national premières, using 4 theatres and 4 multidisciplinary spaces, which foster stimulating situations for the invited choreographers thanks to their peculiarity.
14 Italian companies, across well-known realities and young proposals on which to direct our glance for the first time. These will be joined by 9 international companies, of which 2 are from extra-Europe.
Can festival be an agent for social investigation? Can it represent the complexity of our present, its contradictions, the strength of power and therefore its fragility? Can it tell us about disorientation? We believe so and our responsibility is to create crossroads in a perspective of growth for nourishing artists. We support their artistic research through projects in network, offering opportunities for visibility and experiential growth, precisely in these years in which there are more and more economic and social contradictions.
Alongside an important theatre programming, Interplay Festival continues its urban section with outdoor and site specific performances, in order to identify new audiences and increase the cultural offer addressed to citizens. This is why the program includes “unconventional” places in Torino, planning part of the festival in multidisciplinary spaces in peripheral areas.
Among the national artists of excellence hosted we host: ENZO COSIMI (10/06) with Coefore Rock&Roll, the second part of the three-act project ORESTEA Trilogy of Vendetta, a dance language able to tangle different disciplines, with live music by the club culture and experimental techno music icon LADY MARU.
