The place to sit‚ to my mind‚ contains all kinds of different meanings within itself.
In the western world‚ one stays “seated in one’s own place” a large part of the time‚ both as a schoolchild and in the workplace‚ and often‚ also the jovial times when the family is sitting around a table.
We speak of their “place in society” when talking about a person.
How much of ‘being seated’ is freely chosen and how much is imposed externally?
Andrea Gallo Rosso. His interest for the fusion of languages and different fields of knowledge led him to study both physics at the University of Turin and the performing arts.
After studying music (violin) and theatre (physical theatre and improvisation)‚ he began studying modern dance with Franca Pagliassotto‚ thanks to whom he was able to encounter the teaching of Ismael Ivo. As he opened up to contemporary dance he encountered figures in Turin’s dance scene: Cristina Golin‚ Maria Cristina Fontanelle and Daniela Paci. Furthermore‚ he has studied with Josè Reches and Pedro Berdayes (Conservatory of Madrid)‚ Ivan Wolf‚ Emio Greco‚ Laura Arìs (Ultima Vez Company of Win Vandekeybus)‚ Jacki Miredin and Kirstie Simpson.
