Ambra Senatore was born in Turin and has been working in the field of theatre−dance in Italy and France since 1997.
Since 2001‚she has collaborated with dancers‚ video artists and musicians as co−author of some shows and performance events for exhibition spaces.
Her solo creations include “Vetrina Domestica (Domestic showcase)”‚ 2006‚ “Merce (Merchandise)” 2005‚ “EDA−solo” 2004 and the recent “Informazioni utili” (Useful Information) – produced by TorinoDanza with support from Einaudi publishers – of which she was the co−author‚ together with the writer Andrea Bajani.
She has been sponsored by ALDES‚ Junge Hunde−Sosta Palmizi‚ Intreplay−TorinoDanza and Le Gymnase CDC.
She has also collaborated with many other choreographers including Giorgio Rossi‚ Raffaella Giordano‚ Jean Claude Gallotta‚ Georges Lavaudant‚ Marco Baliani‚ Michela Lucenti and Roberto Castello.
Among those with whom she has studied are: Carolyn Carlson‚ Dominique Dupuy‚ Jean Cébron‚ Catherine Diverres‚ Malou Airaudo‚ Bill T. Jones‚ Ivan Wolf‚ Nigel Charnok and Karine Waehner.
She conferred a doctorate of research in Dance History with a thesis on contemporary dance in Italy and the corporeal. She teaches Dance History at the State University of Milan and conducts practical and theoretical workshops.
She is the winner of the Premio Equilibrio 09 award with her new creation “Passo”.
