The project was inspired by the photography of Muybridge and by Werner Herzog’s documentary “The Great Ecstasy of the engraver Steiner”.
The choreographic process tries to capture moments of the physical training for gymnastics that the human eye‚ if not trained‚ would not able to grasp. The instrument for achieving this is not the photo camera or video camera.
Body‚ sound‚ light and scenic structure create the possibility of the suspension of movement.
Gruppo Nanou
Founded in Ravenna in July 2004 as a space for discussion and enhancement of skills‚ the exploration of interests and the activities of a group of artists. Participation in the finals of the Scenario Award (2003) strengthened the artistic relationship between Marco Valerio Amico‚ Rhuena Bracci and Roberto Rettura. They are the winners of the Gd’A 2004 award with the project Namoro‚ with which they begin touring and performing at important festivals including Fabbrica Europa‚ Danae‚ Santarcangelo di Romagna and Interplay.
Later they created “The Irrational Awareness of the object in the area of Moving” sponsored and co-produced by Centrale Fies-Dro and 4 Cinstruction Sites for the Fabbrica Europa festival.
The MOTEL trilogy‚ co-produced by FONDO FARE ANTICORPI 2008 and the Pontedera Theatre Foundation and supported by Fabbrica Europa Foundation‚ was a finalist for the Equilibrio Award 2008.
They have been written about in the book “Iperscene” (Hyperscene) edited by Mauro Petruzziello‚ published by “Editoria&Spettacolo” 2007.
