The world as an image and concept: the era of the media is no longer a future in and of itself. Role models determine our identity and our thinking. However‚ the wide variety of potential roles creates a new and special sense of freedom. Together with her choreographer partners and the dancer‚ Alexandra Naudet‚ Stephanie Thiersch explores the complicated interaction between mind and flesh‚ image memory and the female body. Concrete stunning‚ enigmatic and provocative visual transformations like something out of a David Lynch movie. (Jury German Dance Paltform)
Stephanie Thiersch‚ with a background as an artist of many talents‚ studied with Gabriel Hall Petra Westermann/Wiesbaden and Dominique Bagouet (CNC Montpellier) and graduated in Humanities at the University of Mannheim with an award-winning thesis on video dance.
She then continued her studies at the Academy of Media Arts in Cologne. Here‚ among the many collaborations‚ she worked with Performance Artist‚ Valie Export.
With her company MOUVOIR‚ founded in 1999‚ she develops performance‚ film and installations which she has presented all over the world. Moreover‚ at the request of the Goethe Institute‚ she has developed choreography and exchange projects‚ the most recent‚ in Togo‚ Tanzania‚ and Mexico.

In 2002‚ she received the rhinedancemedia.web Special Jury Prize and that same year was awarded a Sponsorship Award for North-Rhine-Westphalian artists. “Helter Skelter“‚ made its debut at the Theaterzwang Festival in Dortmund‚ in 2006.
Her new solo‚ after “beautiful me” (2006)‚ “living room” was presented at the Festival 2007 Les Repérages in Lille. Since 2008 she has participated in international festivals in France‚ Sweden‚ Poland‚ Brazil‚ Romania‚ as well as Warsaw and Berlin.
