Jens Van Daele
He studied at the Stedelijk Instituut voor ballet in Antwerp, Belgium. He has worked as a dancer for Conny Jansees, the Takeuchi Company and Rogie &Company, with which he won the Zwaan prize in 2005 as best dancer in Spring.
Since 1999, he has been the resident choreographer of General Oost in Arnhem, with which he has presented his choreography in major cities and festivals throughout the Netherlands. At the same time, in these years he created three works for the Oerol Festival in Terschelling; La Flétrissure (2006) for 2 Move DC and Concrete/Heartbeat (2002) for Conny Janssen Danst.
Since 2008, after an 18-year career, he has devoted himself exclusively to choreography and initiated the collaboration with composer Greg Smith for the accompaniment of his original works. He was selected for the International Dance Roads 2010 project, with which he made a stop in Turin last year for Interplay/10, and was highly praised by the audience and critics.
